Free Crochet Pattern – Mushroom Lip Balm Cozy

I’ve been crocheting a LOT lately and so I’ve gone through most of my go-to yarn. Now, I find myself digging through my scraps and getting creative. Tiny projects make good stashbusters. The low-yarn situationĀ should be rectified soon though…I think the subtle hints to my husband, like, “Valentine’s Day is coming up”, and “Yarn is love” do not fall on deaf ears. I’ll take yarn over chocolate. Both would be fine too!

So, here’s something to use up those scraps. And it’s a cute way to keep your lipbalm, burt’s bees, chapstick warm. That’s a thing, right…keeping lip balm warm? Need to have that beezwax flowing.

Mushroom Lip Balm Cozy – Free Pattern

Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft which is on the light side of worsted weight)

G Hook ( I tend to crochet loose, so if you know you keep a tight tension, go up to a 4.5 mm hook. Pattern works up quick, you’ll know if your particular lip balm will fit by the 3rd or 4th round)

Notes: Pattern is worked in two parts. Lip balm base is worked in the round, bottom up. Feel free to use the spiral method instead of joining and chaining up each round.

Mushroom Cap is worked in the round, top down.
