Scraptastic Cowl - Free Crochet Pattern
In keeping with the scrappy theme of this month, I have a free crochet pattern to share that will keep your neck warm and your wardrobe colorful. The “Scraptastic Cowl” makes great use of the linen stitch (sometimes calles moss stitch) to turn bits of yarn into your favorite (and most colorful) cowl. Make every row a different color, and you’ll end up with a completely unique, one of a kind cowl. Or, if the “anything goes” palette isn’t your thing, just choose a few complimentary colors to suit your taste. If you use just two colors and alternate each round, you’ll end up with a neat striping effect. Fun!

You’ll want to use a size J hook for a cowl with a little bit of rigidity to it, one that will stand up a little. Go aheah and use a K hook if you want something with more drape to it. Chain 80 to start if you want an “average” size cowl, chain 90 if you want it a bit bigger.
