Scrubby Mitt - Free Crochet Pattern

After sharing the “Washcloth Mitt”, which uses a light weight (size 3) cotton yarn, many of you told me you’d love a worsted weight version. So here it is!

This scrubby mitt is good for the kitchen to scrub dishes or pick up that hot pan (and to place a hot pan on), and is equally as good in the shower as a body-wash mitt.

This mitt uses less than 1 ball of cotton yarn, so if you’re like me and snatch up cotton yarn when it’s on sale for a dollar, this is a super economical project to make. They make great gifts, and work up fairly quickly. There are a few tails to weave in, I won’t lie. But the finished result is so worth it! I hope you enjoy making these as much as I enjoyed designing it!

1. With wide sides towards each other, whipstitch 2 halves together (leave the other two pieces separated). If you prefer another joining method like mattress stitch or single crocheting them together, go for it.

2. Decide which side you want to be RS (doesn’t matter)
With wrong sides facing together, lay the 2 small pieces over the large piece, lining them up together.
Pin together with stitch markers if needed.

With RS facing, join new yarn through both layers of mitt with sl st
Ch 1
Sc evenly around entire mitt, working through both layers to seam together.
Join to first sc w/ sl st
