Sometimes, the best thing to do is keep it simple. This Simple Sunday Headband crochet pattern is geared towards beginners looking to build up their crochet confidence without the commitment of a large project. The headband can be made to fit any size, and uses only single crochet and a small amount of cotton yarn to create a fun, functional piece. Add an applique flower or other embellishments to add some pop and make it your own!

Simple Sunday Headband

beginner

I hook

Small amount of worsted weight cotton yarn (I used lily’s sugar n cream)

ch – chain
sc – single crochet
BL – back loop
w/ – with
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch

1. Ch # to fit around head (64 is perfect for my small head)
Join to first sc w/ sl st to form ring/circle
Ch 1 (does not count as st)
Sc in BL only of same ch and each ch around
Join to first sc w/ sl st

2. Ch 1 (does not count as st)
Sc in BL only of same st and each st around
Join to first sc w/ sl st

3 & 4. Repeat round 2 for two rounds, or until desired width
is reached.

Fasten off. Weave in ends.
