Speed Bump Hand Towel – Free Knitting Pattern

"Speed Bump" Kitchen Set - Free Knitting Patterns

When it’s so easy to make a companion to your handmade dishcloth, why the heck not, right?! With just a few tweaks, casting on more stitches and a long section of stockinette, the Speed Bump Dishcloth is transformed into The Speed Bump Hand Towel. One hand towel and a couple dishcloths would make an amazing gift. Who doesn’t love a set!

Depending on the yarn you choose, you may be able to knit this entire towel with just one ball of yarn. I used Premier Home Cotton, with one skein having 140 yards. When this towel was finished I had maybe 20 yards left, but I can’t guarantee you could make this with one ball of Sugar N Cream. If that is your cotton yarn of choice, better buy two skeins. I’ve been using Premier most of the time now because it seems to come out of the wash softer than when it went in.
