Sunset Arches Shawl – Free Crochet Pattern

Sunset Arches Shawl - Free Crochet Pattern

This pattern is for the heavier, worsted weight version of the “Arches” shawl. If you are looking for the light, summer version, look here: Moonlit Arches Shawl – Free Crochet Pattern

I love me a good shawl. They are a perfect way to add a pop of color to your outfit while keeping your neck or shoulders warm. And, WOW, did we really add a pop of color with this one! I am SO pleased with how the Red Heart Super Saver Stripes worked up. I was worried it would look a little “disjointed” but it came out really fabulous. Don’t you love when the yarn does most of the work for you?!

This crochet shawl is very generously sized (66” across, 30” from top center down to tip), so if you’d like to make it a bit smaller, feel free to use any multiple of 7 (+2) as your starting chain and follow the pattern as written.

Loving the look of a scrappy shawl, I decided to make one changing colors every 2 rows. There were a ton of tails to weave in, but it came out really cool!
