Free Crochet Pattern – “Give Me Variety” Market Bag

"Give Me Variety" Tote Bag - Free Crochet PatternVariegated yarn can be beautiful, but it is not everyone’s favorite to work with, as stitch definition doesn’t always show up so well with multi-color yarns. Maybe you have a couple skeins of variegated yarn in your stash that you don’t know what to do with. This crochet pattern was made for highlighting the pretty colors of your favorite (perhaps underutilized) variegated. Sometimes simple is best, and this crochet pattern is just that – simple! If you can do single crochet and double crochet then you can make this bag!

The best results came when I used Loops and Threads Impeccable yarn, as shown with the purple bag. Red Heart Soft was used for the blue bag. While still pretty, it doesn’t have the same color swirl effect that the Loops and Thread yarn has. You’ll only need 2 skeins to make this bag, one variegated and one solid color.

Fun fact – the name for this bag was inspired by a Ryan Montbleau song off the “One Fine Color” album. If you have never heard of him before do yourself a favor and have a listen wherever you get your music!
