Wine Bottle Bag – Free Crochet Pattern

Wine Bottle Bag - Free Crochet Pattern

I am SO psyched to be part of the 2017 Summer Activities CAL (crochet-a-long) for the CAL Central group. Big thanks to Marie, aka Underground Crafter and the other admins for letting me be part of the summer fun!

The 2017 Summer Activities CAL is for small-ish projects we could all potentially finish in a week or less. Each Monday a new, free crochet pattern is released from a different designer, with a summery theme for each week. We are 6 weeks in, and so far we have made cute picnic napkins to hold your utensils, a lovely beach/pool wrap skirt, s’more inspired dishcloths, a summery flower pillow, a colorful market tote bag, and, this week, we are making a wine bottle bag.

Don’t feel like you have to make everything to be part of the CAL Central group. I was planning to make everything, admittedly, but have fallen behind. If you only make one item the whole Summer, we’d still love to see it. Join the Facebook group, and/or tag your pictures #CALCentralCrochet on your favorite social media, twitter, facebook, tumblr, all that jazz.

The theme for this week’s pattern is “Party”. Because, really, what is summer without at least one party?! Lively gatherings where you sit outside and eat counts, too. Perhaps you are hosting the party (I hope the guests help you clean up), or you are going to a party (help the host clean up). Customarily, when you are going to someone’s house to eat, or for a party, you bring wine. At least, that’s what Hollywood has brought me up to think. It makes sense. You’re making dinner, I’ll bring the wine.

This Wine Bottle Bag will fit a standard 750ml bottle just perfectly. The bobbles in the middle ensure the glass bottle is protected under a layer of cushiness, while the handle makes for easy transport. Cotton yarn was used on this particular bottle holder, but you could use acrylic as well if you wish. Cheers!
