I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe its June already! Where did May go? Hopefully the kids out of school aren’t driving you crazy yet! Maybe you are planning a vacation or a day trip to the beach. If you are looking for a pattern that works up quickly and will compliment your summer style, look no further! This easy bucket hat will have you stylin in no time! Grab your hook and some cotton yarn and treat yourself to a new hat today! This wonderful pattern by Melissa Mall can be found HERE.

Bucket hatThe pattern calls for carrying yarn underneath your stitches, but I didn’t like the look of the seam when I did it this way, so to me, it’s worth the extra work to cut and weave in ends later.

This is the perfect hat to add an appliqué to. I wanted a “cape cod” style hat, so for this one I used denim style cotton yarn, and added a crab appliqué. The pattern for the crab can be found HERE.

Happy hooking!
