If you are looking to design your own crochet patterns from scratch, you might be wondering how on earth to get started. There’s no need to over complicate things, especially if you are just starting out. All you really need is some paper and a pencil (complete with eraser), and of course some yarn and your crochet hook. Perhaps you have something in mind you want to make and aren’t sure which stitch to use, or maybe you have NO idea what to make. This little book can help you with that. It has 19 stitch patterns to stimulate your imagination, and if you’d rather not create a design yourself but get right down to crocheting, it includes 6 ready to crochet patterns – Single Crochet Ridges Dishcloth, Cluster Rows Dishcloth, Classic Half Circle Rug, Shells and Lace Baby Wrap, Vintage Afghan, and Diagonal Clusters Pillow.

One of my favorite projects to make when testing out new crochet stitches are dishcloths. You can really get a feel for the stitch pattern without committing to a large project, and dishcloths are a great, functional item to dress up your kitchen. I just finished a wavy dishcloth based off one of the stitch patterns in the book. That free pattern is available here: Wavy Lines Dishcloth – Free Crochet Pattern

“More Crochet Stitches & Easy Projects” is a small book (measures 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″), an easy fit for your project bag. It has all the information you’ll need for how to use the stitches provided to plan your own design, including everything you need to know about stitch multiples. If you are truly a beginning crocheter, this book has several pages dedicated to showing the basic stitches you’ll need to know to complete all the stitches and projects in the book.

The book is available in traditional paperback, or as an ebook instant download.

Have you made a project from a crochet stitch in this book? I’d love to see! Send me an email, tweet, share it on Goddess Crochet’s facebook wall, or send me a message on Ravelry.
